Submission Guidelines:

  1. Subscribe to The Pulse Newsletter.

  2. Write about any of the following topics:

    1. Research (either yours or current research)

    2. Medical Topics (various medical ailments)

    3. Global Health (crises the global community faces)

    4. Being a Premed at Caltech (what it entails and any pitfalls to avoid)

    5. Miscellaneous (anything you are passionate about). 

  3. Submit:

    1. Submit here

    2. Please include the following:

      1. Your full article and title.

      2. Your works cited.

      3. Any relevant images for the article.

      4. A bio with an image, if you wish.

Things to keep in mind: 

  1. Coming up with a titleThink of what would grab the reader's attention.
  2. Length of article: Between 300 and 800 words is ideal. Up to 1000 words if needed
  3. Voice: This is an academic journal, so articles should be written with that in mind.
  4. Keep things apolitical: As this is a medical journal rather than an opinion editorial, please keep politics to an absolute minimum. 
  5. Cite your sources: Cite all the relevant sources and do not plagiarize. The Caltech Honor Code still applies.
